The Commission Project is a series of landscape paintings executed by contemporary artist Paula Lalala. The landscapes depicted in these paintings are of actual places. Some of these individual works were initially created for site-specific installation, yet they are discrete objects so may be moved or exhibited in other locations.
The seeds of this venture began in 2002, when artist Paula Lalala was asked by her mother to make an artwork to fit inside of a window in her home. Paula’s work depicts the trees that were obscured by the placement of the painting. After encountering this work at a party, a business executive wanted Paula to create something for his office; thus The Commission Project was launched.
